A private security guard just needed the copper as therapy for joint pain, she told police in a story in Friday’s (Oct. 3) Milwaukee Journal Online (“It’s not Theft, It’s Therapy, Woman Says”). The guard is being charged with theft of copper parts worth over $9,000. The company she was supposedly providing security for became suspicious when copper parts turned up missing. It installed a security camera that recorded the guard stuffing her pockets full of copper parts. She later claimed that she couldn’t affort physcial therapy for her joint pain and stuffed her pockets with copper parts as a substitute. Does anyone doubt that this woman needs therapy? A penny for your thoughts.
